No signal going to monitor?

Well, I had some software issues with my computer beforehand and stowed it in the garage since February (I fixed the software issues before stowing it away). It is a rather excellent rig, with good graphics card and CPU. Although I cannot name for you all the specific parts it has, it was originally a Dell Studio XPS, where I replaced the graphics card with an AMD XFX Radeon HD 60-something and an Intel i5 Quad-Core (I believe it was Sandy Bridge. I added 4 more GB of RAM, I don't remember what kind.

My problem is this:

Yesterday, I decided to set up the computer again. I hooked everything up, and tried turning it on (connected by an HDMI cable from monitor to graphics card) and it didn't work. The tower powered on, but no signal went to the monitor. However, it worked like a charm once I switched to another HDMI cable. Everything was working great until I left Total War: Rome II running for a long time. When I came back to the computer about two hours later, my monitor displayed only "No Signal," which is the same thing it said when it wouldn't display the day before. So, I switched the HDMI cable again, but it didn't work. After a bunch of fooling around disconnecting and reconnecting different cables, I turned the tower off and cleaned the inside with some compressed air. Still didn't work.

Whenever I turn the computer on, the tower powers up fine, but no signal goes to the monitor. It simply has the message "No Signal."

I know the issue is not the cable or the monitor, since it worked fine hooking the monitor up to my other computer.

How can I fix this?
