Hi guys,

I Just installed a EVGA Nvidia GTX 650 ti (2GB) in my Dell XPS 420 (replacing an old 8900 GT). Everything seemed to work fine at first when using Adobe software, browsing the web...etc, but every time I load a game (Skyrim, Civ 4, Battlefield) the screen either locks up, goes Black or flashes around and then ultimately crashes to desktop.

I've uninstalled the driver, ran a "driver cleaner" in safe mode, and tried installing an older WHQL driver, but I ended up with the same issue. Sometimes, when the game crashes, I get a little message on the taskbar stating that the display kernal failed and recovered.

I'm pretty much a noob when it comes to troubleshooting hardware issues, anyone know of any compatibility issues with my setup or how best to troubleshoot this issue? I don't really know where to go from here. Thank you in advance.

Dell XPS 420
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU (Q6700 @ 2.66GHz
Nvidia 650 ti (2GB)
8 GB RAM
Corsair PSU (700 watts)
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

(Also, I ran both Malware and Avast scans and came up clean).

Thanks for the reply. I tried, but to no avail. I installed Driver 331.40 beta, 327.23 (whql) and 320.49 (whql) which was the previous stable version, all directly from Nvidia's website.
