I replaced the hard drive (Seagate SATA II; 160 GB; 7200 rpm) on an eMachines ET-1161-05 and added 2 GB of RAM. I then loaded Windows 8 (system builder version; no support from MS) and the system is extremely unstable. Numerous bsods, hangs and warning and error events and, after some early success troubleshooting, now seem to be random/unrelated. I've reached the extent of my knowledge/ability and I'm looking for help/advice. Can Windows 8 run stable on this machine? Thanks, Joe PS I do not have any eMachines support or recovery disks.
