Thought on any SSD deals for this holiday season? Have had my eye on a possibly a Samsung 840 120GB. should be a good enough size? Want to use it for my OS and and possibly some games.

Solution
Better to get a 256GB if you can afford around $150 or hopefully less. Last year I bought several Crucial C4 256GB drives for $160 around Thanksgiving so I am hoping for $140 range this year on the newer drives like the Samsung 840.

IMO Samsung, Intel and Crucial are the most reliable drives.

Pretty much any new SSD will provide very similar performance, benchmarks differences are not terribly meaningful as they are within about a few percent of real world overall performance. I look at reliability and the quality of the software. The Samsung Magician is the best followed by the Intel SSD Toolbox on that. I'm looking for a few Samsung 840 or 840 EVO drives on a good sale.
