Ok so, i have a dell inspirion 560 and i have a 400 watt psu,now that psu is missing, 4 of the 24 connecting pins, my old desktop did the same thing but ran fine, so should i be worried about it not running properly?
So are you upgrading PSU? If it only has 20 pin connector does not sound reassuring that it is modern with power where it needs to be.
yes it is older, but i have adapters for my sata power and everything else is fine, the cpu is powered, and the only thing im worried about is maybe it can't produce enough power to provide everything with power
More like what is the power (amps) on the +12 volt rail compared between them. Modern computers need the majority of their power on the +12 volts so in a modern PC it is better to have a 300watt that has 16amps on the +12 volts than a 400watt that has 15amps on the +12 volts.

Yeah it says on the 400 watt +5, +3.3v and +12v combined max output 380 watt
*UPDATE* the stock psu doesn't say +anything just the +5 and +3.3....
