so i made a build with a gigabyte z87x ud3h motherboard. i installed windows 8 and when i went to open internet explorer it said windows did not detect a properly installed network adaptar. So after a quick google search i found i should download the driver from here: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3853#dl . i download the realtek lan driver and installed it on the computer - after the installation a pop up window said that the realtek network controller was not found. In device manager there is no realtek driver found. could i not find an answer for this anywhere, please help me :). My connection is a simple ethernet one.

Solution
make sure in the bios under onboard devices the lan port is on. make sure the lan cable is locked it. if the port is working you should see a link light led and a blinking led. make sure under device manager there no yellow!! if there is start with the intel chipset drivers then see if your missing the newer intel mei driver.
