Hi there, Currently have FX 8350 O/C to 4400. Also running GTX 780 in SLI.

Is it worth upgrading to i7 4770K purely for gaming?

I have read around and cant really come to a conclusion due to how about how much cpu makes a difference to fps in regards to GPU.

Obviously easier to go to 9590, but that looks a bit rubbish compared to i7?

cheers!

Even if you do have money to spare, I would advice that you save it up for future upgrades instead of dumping it on a CPU right now.
Right now, it is not worth upgrading. The i7-4770K won't perform that much better than the FX-8350.

The FX-9590 runs very hot at stock speed. You will need very good cooling and a motherboard with good VRM design. Sticking that chip in just any supported motherboard may not work because it'll draw so much power that it can easily burn out the MOSFET.

Since the 8350 is not bottlenecking your setup, it would not make very much difference to upgrade.

You would see a small increase, and your system would be considerably more efficient, but it wouldn't be worth the extra money unless you've got money to spare.

I wouldnt do so, if i were in your shoes look here!!! http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=4546&game=Watch%20Dogs games are getting heavily threaded, like this one, for ultra it says you need either fx 8350 or 3770k, so literally, in multi threaded programs they are more or less the same, and all games are going to be heavily mult-threaded in the close future....so no dont do so!!! instead save money for 2-3 years later from now!!!
