All, Just an FYI
I was in the process of installing a CM Hyper 212 to a Gigabyte X79 MB when one of the standoffs sheared off with very little torque applied. I checked the depth of the tapped holes in the standoffs and the pilot hole extends into the threaded stud of the standoff. Bad news. Very thin wall. The stud broke off in the LGA2011 bracket. I had to use a screw extractor to remove. Any suggestions on a higher quality cpu cooler kit?
