Hi guys,

This is my first time posting on here, so hi. Anyway, I have a desktop computer (HP a6142n - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en...) that's just been given to me. I upgraded the HDD to an SSD and updated to Windows 8, but would like a new graphics card to replace the integrated GeForce 6150SE integrated chip (rated a 3.1 on Windows Experience - yes really). Anyway, I'm fairly certain the current generic 250W PSU can't deliver enough juice especially since I have numerous peripherals connected (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...). I don't know any reputable brands for this kind of thing, and I want at least 400W to future-proof it. If you have any recommendations for a PSU, that would be great (apparently size matters, so please recommend one that fits). If you can recommend a decent graphics card as well (here's my motherboard: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en...) then I would be very thankful. Oh, and I don't really know about a budget, but cheap solutions would be nice (preferably less than $150-$200 total for both the PSU and graphics card). Thanks in advance!

Hello.
HIS H777FN1G Radeon HD 7770 GHz $89.99
Corsair Builder Series CX 500 $49.99 (two PCI-E +500watt for future uses)

Total: $139.98

That was quick, thanks! Since the PSU turned out to be so cheap, could you find me a cheaper graphics card that will work? Something in the neighborhood of $60 would be great, since I don't need anything very high-end. Thank you so much!

A Corsair or Seasonic power supply around 550W and costing about $60 would serve you very well.

A R7 260X for around $140

The PSU looks great, but I think the graphics card is a bit too powerful/expensive. I only use it for browsing the web and catching up on emails, but the onboard graphics can't even keep up with 720p HD YouTube videos. All I need is a card that can comfortably play 1080p HD while sticking with my computer's form factor requirements (check the motherboard description). Thank you!

The 7770 is not even entry gaming GPU.
I just placed the best that I could without reaching $150 :) .
Now around $60...
AX6670 1GBK3-H $59.99
It's not as good as 7770 but it will do the job and its miles away from the Geforce6150.
