Can I Crossfiring 7970s on 750 watts?

Hello, I was wondering if my 750 watt power supply will support 2 7970s. I already have 1 and adding another could be a relatively cheap ugrade. My build is http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1QEUE. Also is a 1cm space in between the cards enough? Finally will 2 x 7970s be better than 1 290x?

i have catalyst 13.11 and use a 1080p screen with perfect gameplay :)

If the current benchmarks are to be believed, the 290X is on par with a 7990, so 7970x2 should be pretty much equal. Where it won't be equal is in the stutter Crossfire has, which is still an issue outside of single screen DX11. Personally I'd 100% wait it out and get the 290X assuming you are going to stick to AMD.

The PSU will work fine.

I already have 1 7970 so this would likely be a kind of cheap upgrade. If I only use 1 screen is a micro-stuttering a non-issue?
