Yes...TDP is the maximum power your CPU consumes.
According to Intel,it's definition is,
"Thermal Design Power (TDP) represents the near maximum power a product can draw for a thermally significant period while running commercially available software."
Now I've seen
this article, which shows the power consumption of Intel core i5-4430 CPU.
See the
specs of i5-4430. Similarly to i5-4440, max TDP equals 84W.
But the test at the article that I've linked too earlier, clearly shows a power consumption of 136W..! This is a huge difference..
What could be wrong here?
Maybe the tests aren't accurate?
