Trying to install my HIS 7950 IceQ card into my system and come to plugging in the 2 six pin plugs, problem is my 650 watt power supply only has 1 six pin plug. So i just used a molex to 6 pin spare i had but after reading the manual, this is bad for power consumption according to it. What else can i do ( i really do not want to buy a new PSU dont have the money for one at the moment )

While using a Molex to PCI power cable is not ideal, there is no real problem with it. You have plenty of headroom with that Power Supply, so boot up your system to see if it works. If it does, good, if it doesn't, start searching for deals!

The fact that you have a 650W PSU with only one PCI connector does raise concerns about the quality, most high quality brand 650W power supplies will have at least two. What is the make of your Power Supply?

Right, based on the fact that I've never heard of that make of PSU, and that it only has a single PCI power cable, I don't know if it's a good idea to run such a high value graphics card on that power supply.

I know it may be a significant amount of money to fork out, but I really recommend a new Power Supply of at least 550W from a reputable manufacturer, such as XFX, Seasonic, Corsair, or the like.

Would it be at all possible to have the rail readings for the power supply (the sticker with the numbers on it)?

Regards
Luke
