Can a damaged GPU make the CPU run harder?

To make up for the work the GPU is not doing? As many know Ive been on here crying about my new computer and how it sucks. When I ordered it the GPU was bouncing around inside the computer because it was not placed properly in the slot. Well I started up my game, (and yes everything in the computer passes beyond the min requirements, this is a crucial part.. MY SYSTEM PASSES W ALL SYSTEM REQUIRMENTS FOR THE GAME) bu when I play the cpu runs at 100% usage..... What could be making it do this? A damaged GPU?.. keep in mind its a brand new computer so, no virus's or background programs running.

Experience. I had core 2 duo and HD 7950. CPU usage was 100% when gaming. Now I upgraded it to FX 6350 and usage is 60-70 sometimes 85%. i didnt have money for a better CPU back then.

So what's your problem when playing? Do you experience low fps, or what is it? Is your problem ONLY that it's running 100% CPU usage?

If your CPU is running 100% usage, it doesn't mean that it will damage your CPU or anything. You might want to check your CPU temps. If they are high, (62+) then we can call it a problem. But for now check your temps whilst playing games.

Mate, let me tell you something simple. I feel like you don't want to go through the trouble of returning things or maybe you don't want to inconvenience the dude who sold it to you or whatever, but really, we already told you. This computer is simply incapable of doing what you expected it to do.

You should return it as long as you can, recover your money back.

Honestly, don't you feel angry about being clearly ripped off?

the advertisement may have been harsh by saying "gaming computer" but he didnt advertise that it would play COD w high graphics or anything..My game on CANIRUNIT.COM says I PASS WITH OVER THE MINIMUM REQ. ALSO PAST THE RECOMMENDED. Thats why I am holding faith that the GPU might just be damaged.. I know the comp isnt raw af. I was not xpecting this computer to be a "gaming machine" it told me all the specs ahead of time and I should have done my research before hand but like an idiot I wanted to get what I could when I could when I could.. bcuz my other pc broke down. But with the specs I have now from previous. I should be able to play the same game... with much better frames, graphics, and expierience. But something is WRONG with the processor.. its ALL in the processor.. Comp runs smooth af. But as soon as a 3D render application is opened... cpu spikes. Or even on netflix. On my old pc it ran at 34% cpu... on this one its runs from 11% up to 50% !!!!!! this could also mean faulty gpu... so the gpu is already sent will get it in 2 days. If it doesnt solve the problem I am going to return it. Or he told me if I wanna upgrade the processor he will buy back the one he put in the comp which is about 66$ and I could throw an extra 40-50$ in to get the amd quad core I want from amazon lol. idk... Im just floating on faith in the gpu at this point.I mean I know its a POSSIBILITY may not b a high one but.. its possible.

the gpu is totally fine around 30% when playing... the cpu however goes to 100% and makes me chop all over the game.. lag basically... more heavy than GPU lag when occured on my old pc.

he is sending me a new gpu btw just bcuz we already know it may be damaged lol... Also my gefore has 2gb of memory if that makes any dif?

lol the problem is the cpu.. HAS to be.. only when it goes to 100% things start fuccin up... srry for cuss lol

highest it got was 29 degrees C ... and Im guessing that aint very hot.. but the cpu was 100% on both cores.. lowest it got was the 2nd core droped to about 50 whenever I died in game n had to respawn.. which makes the 3d rendering go away..... lol

would this be a good upgrade? http://shop.amd.com/us/All/Detail/Processor/AD580KWOHJBOX?SearchFacets=category%3AProcessor

A damaged GPU will not incur increased CPU usage. Get that out of your head.

You still haven't told us what actual problem you're having. 100% CPU usage is not a problem by itself.

Modern processors can throttle down when under light loads. Windows does not recognize that the CPU has been throttled and so the % usage appears higher.

For instance, a 3.0 ghz chip under 25% load may throttle down to 1.0ghz, because it doesn't need the extra power. This will make performance monitor show the CPU @ 75% load.
