I know I know it has been asked a buch of times already, How is the 4770k better than the 3770k. well IMO it is not that much better one main reason is the IRV on the Haswell chip which cuases a few minor issues but issues nonetheless. Heat being one of them. So I ask this because I am upgading my PC and for sure need a new motherboard I was thinking the Asus P8Z77 V-PRO. the one I have now does not support SLI. So should I just get the MB and then upgrade from a i5 3570k to an i7 3770k???? Not only for gaming but for rendering as well. Or should I just wait till Broadwell comes out which already announced that they are taking the IVR of the CPU. So iI huess it would be similar to the Z77 chipset in ways I hope. please let me if this makes sense sometimes in my head i think it makes sense but not when i speak or write.

The heat issues on the haswell chips are not a big problem unless you want to do serious overclocking. If you are getting a new motherboard regardless, I say get the 4770k. It is more energy efficient and marginally faster for $10 more in price (if that). Z87 and Z77 mobos also cost roughly the same.

If you want to wait for Broadwell you will be waiting for a while. That isn't coming out anytime soon. Production just got delayed to Q1 2014, which means it won't hit the market until Q3 2014, or at the very earliest Q2 2014.

Haswells i7 4770k at first won me over but the deeper I look into it the more i have trouble choosing. I know that the haswell I s faster in just about every way and I would not be spending a lot more most places have them priced at 30 or 40 dollars more fr the 4770k and there is benefits to owning a LGA 1150 MB but I still would like too but a new MB so I could but another NVidia GPU and put in sli and then BUild my new PC(which is not a neccesity rigt now). I think from the money I will be putting aside I can have averything I need which includes a new GPU in about 4-7 months. Buythat time it would not be wise to buy a dead socket

Well if you're going to wait 4-7 months anyway then that gets you a lot closer to Broadwell's projected release date. So it may make sense for you to wait a little longer for Broadwell.

Of course CPU sockets get replaced with every new generation anyway, which tends to happen every year or so, so I would look at the features of the mobo/chipset you get with a socket type rather than focusing too much on the specific socket type when deciding what kind of mobo you want to buy.
