Laptop is not starting but fan is running fast

OS : Windows 8

Laptop : Dell Inspiron 1545

Problem : when i plugin the AC adapter in my laptop, only fan runs fast, lights are on,
But it does not start.

Last thing I did : i installed .Net Framework from installation CD from then it's not working.

Is it MOBO issue? PLZ HELP.

Hmm you may want to have Dell take a look at it.

Other than that you can try this:
1) Unplug the laptop, turn it off
2) Remove the battery
3) Plug it back in and try to turn it on (with battery still removed.)

Sometimes the battery fails and it will cause some booting issues.. If that doesn't work call Dell.

Hi shikhar,
Assuming onichikun's solution didn't work for you.

I gave my laptop to dell service centre for diagnosis, they charged me Rs 1364. They said that your mother board is dead and new mother board will cost you Rs 11000 with 3 months warranty.

So I told do not replace it. And I decided to replace by myself. So I ordered refurbished mother board for Rs 7000 with 1 month warranty from eBay.

Voila,,it's working again.
