I am on windows 8.1 pro, and on the Nvidia control panel it says my Direct3D is 11.1.

Is it possible to download Directx 11.2 now or is it not available until Xbox One is out?

Solution

It seems you cannot download DX 11.2 since it is part of Win8.1 and will only be available for Win8.1

To check which version of DirectX is on your computer

1) Open DirectX Diagnostic Tool by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, typing dxdiag in the search box, and then pressing Enter.

2) Click the System tab, and then, under System Information, check the DirectX version number.

You may be some pro when it comes to windows but windows 8.1 don't have dx 11.2 added to it yet,
My system info say's I have DX 11 not 11.1 or 11.2 and it's been fully updated running windows 8.1 64 bit,

In my googling I came across this helpful download, UPDATES DX,
http://dxwebsetup just click the http and it will start for you,

Just to let you know I was looking into issues regarding this kind of thing today and on the microsoft website it states that under dxdiag it will at the moment most likely say directx 11 regardless of whether it is 11 /11.1 or 11.2. In other words even if it has updated when you update windows (which I have) it still says it is directx 11 (which mine does).

It's very easy to check your DX version,

In the same place, ie, Start> DxDiag, go to the second tab, called 'Display'.

On the Right hand side, under the 'Drivers' section area, the last line, would say something like Driver Model : 'WDDM 1.2'.

WDDM 1.2 => DX 11.1
WDDM 1.3 => DX 11.2

That's it; although if you're sure you're running Windows 8.1 on a GCN card, with the latest drivers, there's no doubt that you'll be running 11.2 !

Cheers!

That is incorrect unfortunately, if you look above in feature levels it will show what versions are available, 11.0, 10.1, 10.0, 9.3 ect. ! I have Windows 8.1 Pro and GTX-680's in SLI, but in Nvidia info it says DX11 , in GPU-Z says DX11. I have yet to see with my own eyes someone running DX 11.2 anywhere. I am still trying to figure out why all 3 of my Windows 8.1 PC's do not have DX 11.2 or even 11.1 !!!! If you have any new idea's please let me know !!!!

You guys don't seem to understand that Nvidia control panel just shows what DX feature level the card is, Also the 600 series and 7000 series AMD GPU's do not support DX11.2, The 600 series does not even fully support DX11.1 as the 7000 series does, However the 600 series does support DX11.1 in games. Only the R-200 series and 700 series support DX11.2 , Also DX11.2 update has not been added to windows yet. It has only been announced. And with DX12 coming and Mantle already being here, DX11.2 might not even ever be used in any game titles anyway. But what's his name is right DXDIAG will tell you what feature levels you have available. Just remember if you have a 600 series Nvidia and it does not show DX11.1 Don't worry because it does do 11.1 in games.
