6 core with HT. For people who have more $$ than sense. or for people who need a lot of processor power on a desktop.

Useful if you are running very CPU-intensive, massively parallel applications. Still probably won't justify the price tag, though, especially since the 4930k is essentially the same processor slightly underclocked for half the price.

Once you get beyond the 4670k, the diminishing returns set in. Smaller performance gains for lots more cost.
