Windows 8.1 Start Button Problems

I upgraded a Samsung Series 7 laptop from 8 to 8.1 last week via the download. There are a number of problems, most obvious is that MOST of the right click choices on the new Start Button/Menu don't do anything. LIkewise, things that used to work in the bottom right corner right click gizmo don't work anymore. Same ones which don't work in start button don't work in bottom left.

Anyone else have anything like this? Any suggestions to repair? Finally, is there a way to roll back to last 8.0 version. I've seen that restore restores to 8,0 original, which I really don't want to recustomize again...

Thanks!

I believe you have to reinstall 8 again (or restore from an earlier system image). If you install media you might be able to do that, although since you didnt upgrade it then you probably wouldnt have that.

I think the solution has arrived. Windows update gave me a new AMD video driver today, and most of the broken stuff appears to work now.

The video upgrade was not pretty. Display shut off, and was only able to get it by by disconnecting battery. But all seems fine now.

To boot, I actually found one useful feature!

I am having the same issue but Windows have not offer me a driver update. Anything that you did to get resolved? In particular the installation defaults to Desktop and can not get to show the start menu.
