i have two graphics cards installed at the moment, an ATI radeon 4000 series, and now a new GEFORCE GTX 660 twin frozr.... the frozr isnt currently working, its showing in windows but is showing as an error...
i have attempted installing and uninstalling the driver twice but to no avail
i should mention only the Radeon has 2 monitors hooked up to it...

from my research:
i read that since they're 2 different chipsets they can conflict in windows, making one not work.
also read that the 2nd one needs a monitor hooked up to it to actually work (not sure how much sense this makes) and if i dont intend to hook up a monitor to it, to hook up a dummy dongle to it to actually work.

could there be anything else causing this new card not to work? cheers in advance for any help.

i was hoping to use the 2nd card for cryptocoin mining, rather than actually using it for any graphics.

so you're saying the first radeon i need to change over to a nvidia as well?

Mousemonkey i just read your reply:
Im in windows 7 64-bit for the record.

This is from the Wiki but you can follow the links and download the WP if you want.

I have read other posts that confirm mousemonkey's post.... still leaves me though with a situaton of a none working card

the exact message im getting is:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

i followed the steps on this: http://www.gobitgo.com/articles/1002/How-to-Mine-with-6-GPU/

but also to no avial, he has 6 x the same GPU though...

if i dont get to the bottom of this ill try removing the radeon and seeing how things work out.

That guy has 6 identical GPU's in a dedicated system, not 2 completely different ones.

Install one at a time to rule out a bad card.

i understand they're 6 identicals... this maybe the issue here, however it shouldnt be as i read time and time again that in Win7 this is actually supported.... in saying that i cant seem to find any example of anyone having 6 (or even 2) different cards installed.

i'll start swapping cards and seeing how this works out

so the power cable to the GPU wasnt 100% in, it was "just" a little loose... its in now, and both GPUs work perfectly independent of each other

one's working my screens, one's mining at current - so confirmed, mousemonkey is correct, and im an idiot for not re-checking connections.

but thank you everyone for the assistance so far.
