I have just started venturing into the world of computers in the past 3 months or so, and I decided I wanted to work with them for a career and where better to learn about computers than to start by building my own? I have learned a whole lot so far, like SATA and PCI and ATX, and I want to keep learning so I wanted a build that let me have room to expand and try other things like over-clocking and liquid cooling, also multiple monitors and perhaps visual effects. Even to run a server. So after a few weeks of searching I have this as my baseline build, I plan to buy more pieces and upgrade things like RAM and add a video card or four eventually.

Case- Rosewill Blackhawk ultra

Motherboard- ASRock Z87 OC Formula

Processor- I7 4770k

PSU- CORSAIR AXi AX760i 760W Digital ATX12V / EPS12V (Still not sure what voltage I'll use)

SSD Bootdrive - SAMSUNG 840 EVO

RAM- G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) (This will be one of the first things I update before gaming)

Optical Drive- ASUS 24X DVD Burner

(I will put a 1TB HDD in there for data storage but it is not necessary for the first few things to get on there like OS)

I plan to use a monitor I already have until I can buy one and then add a blu ray writer and better ram also buy a video card at some point. Then perhaps some cool software and I can start gaming on it as well.

But what do you think of the build and are there any other things I should consider? or any better options or non-compatible components?

Thank you guys for the feedback!

that seems to be a fantastic computer, when you upgrade the ram and get a graphics card, it will be a great computer for gaming, maybe you should get more ram to start with, because you will be wasting money if you buy ram now and then replace it later, you might as-well just get a good amount of ram now and save your money

Well I plan to try over clocking at some point, though I am not sure the point of it. Until I get enough RAM and a data storage hardrive and my OS I wont be doing much of anything on it except for looking at it and powering it up to show off. But then I would like to be able to do things like browse the web while playing games like skyrim on high detail with mods while recording and/or streaming. Perhaps the ability to play a game and browse the web and watch netflix. The idea is that I am getting this computer instead of an Xbox one or PS4 so it will have to do everything they do including run shows across the room to my tv, while I game and do other things. I am not sure what all I will need to be running in order to do all of this, but I do not want to be limited by my PC specs.
I would also like to get into video editing and visual effects along with having a computer than I can run cool/fun things with. Like possibly create a computer model or right a program.

Getting less RAM now and then upgrading to 8GB later means wasting money on 2 kits instead of 1. If you want to stick to dual channel with your current set up you would be limited to 4GB of RAM and all the slots occupied.

I had the idea that i would buy a few GB like 4. as 2 1gb sticks then add 2 4's then have 10GB and then get 4 8's eventually. But my point is i would have some low ram sticks for other future builds in order to get them started off
