Good Day,
I have multiple networks, 3 as of now I did not create (knowingly) making my home network a spaghetti mess. I'll describe my setup briefly. I have a wired Win7 desktop, a wireless laptop which I have hard-wired to the modem with an Ethernet, so it's wired but with wireless capability of course (wireless button on/blue light) and a third PC. an identical Win7 desktop downstairs that we use wirelessly since there's no phone jack in that room (it has a wireless card in the Pcie slot) The 3 networks are 1 wired private network, 1 wireless public network and one wireless private network. I know how to disable of course, but they "re-enable" when I reboot. How do I remove the superfluous networks permanently? How do I know which one is the one to be kept? Thanks in advance. Oh, I use Uverse for DSL

Solution
You can remove wireless networks that are no longer used by opening the network control panel, select "manage wireless networks" and delete those that you no longer use. If you accidentally delete one that you really do use, it will be discovered when you reboot and you can log back on.

You must understand though that Windows will recognize any nearby wireless radio signal as a potential network to use and list it in the available connections.
