Need suggestion for a good external hard drive

I want a fast and reliable external hard drive for backup under 200$. The backup are mainly for big dslr files and photos.

I'm looking at these two: (one is cheap and the other is supposedly fast)

I search the web and the buffalo drive have pretty good reviews for a 5400rpm drive. Is paying nearly twice as much than the seagate is worth it? Do you have other suggestions for a good external hard drive?

The second drive is (artificially) fast because it has 1gb of ram used as a cache. Once you get past the cache it slows down to normal HDD speeds. If the drive loses power before the cache is fully written to the drive, you are in deep trouble...
Also be aware that Buffalo does not make drives so you don't know what your getting inside it.

Whichever drive you get, be sure to properly eject the drive before turning it off or removing from the system.
