My motherboard is Gigabyte GA 970A-UD3
CPU is AMD FX X8 8350
Whatever I do in BIOS I couldn't get the memory modules to operate at the 1866mhz CL10 timings, should it be an XMP profile but I read somewhere that its for intel cpus only, then do I need to manually set the memory? Please help me with this.

First thing to do is set the voltage to 1.5v ( probably is already there but make sure it's not trying to overvolt to 1.65v or something ) then set the speed to 1866. Then the timings. You only need to worry about these, leave everything else stock.

tCL or CAS Latency 10
tRCD 11
tRP 10
tRAS 30
CMD or Command Rate 2N or 2T I think Gigabyte always calls it 2N.

Then just save and exit BIOS.

Some AMD boards have an XMP option. You just need to look in BIOS ( or your motherboard manual ) and enable it if it's there. If not you will need to manually set the voltage, speed and timings.

I think BIOS is lates as it shows FC as latest at the Gigabyte website and also on the UEFI BIOS it is also FC. So no new BIOS for this MB. But I am a little scared to set the timings manually, will it void any warranty or something? Also what numerical values should I use, looking at G.skill website and finding my memory, the link btw: http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-14900cl10d-16gbxl it says SPD speed is 1333mhz CL9 while it is actually tested at 1866mhz with 10-11-10-30-2N latencies. So I presume I should use these values but which is which not explained well, CAS, tRAS and all those makes me a little fuzzy :D I wrote these values for manual entereing but it seems there should be 2 more looking at my BIOS

ok. in the cpu clocking section of your bios, somewhere close to the northbridge frequency you should see

"ram frequency" - change that from auto to 1866

under ram frequency, close to it, should be something that says "dram timings" or something with dram in it, and it will likely be set to auto. Change that to manual. which should bring you to the ram settings.
set them to~
tCAS - 10
tRCD - 11
tRP - 10
tRAS -30
command rate - 2T

don't worry about the rest of the ram settings in there. back out and page down to voltages. you should see a dram voltage setting and it should be set to auto. Change it to 1.5V

gah! got ninja'ed! where is a watermelon when i need one? Anyway those instructions are vague mostly cause i'm going by memory, and i don't have your bios in front of me at the moment to refer to.
