Hello guys,

I need some motherboard assistance. I have a non K i72600. I've though about overclocking it a touch, nothing major, but Im not sure if the motherboard I want to get will allow me to do so since it isnt a K series processor. I just recently found out that you could actually crank up a regular 2600 when I didnt think you could.

Tom's has an article here where they speak of slight overclocking on a regular 2600 while using a p57 based motherboard. My socket for my processor is 1155, I had already picked out a motherboard I was considering using. Here --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293 . Will this board allow me to still slightly overclock? Im guessing p57 is my north bridge.

You can overclock a non K i5 or i7 processor like yours 4 bins or 400Mhz over stock via the Turbo function. You will need a P67, Z68, Z75 or Z77 motherboard to do it.

I don't have a clue where you are getting P57. You linked to a Z77 board.
