I need an advice about upgrading my system or switch to another platform.
Currunt system specs are: Athlon II X3 450 with stock 3.2 GHz, the motherboard is Asrock 890gm pro 3 (AM3 socket), 4 GB 1333 MHz of RAM.
The reason I want an upgrade is that the integrated Radeon HD 4290 can't perform well since I bought a new 24 inch monitor with 1900x1200 resolution.
Is it worth to buy a new GPU like mid-range Radeon HD 7700? I'm affraid that the Radeon 7770 might be bottleneck by this CPU. I use my system mainly for heavy browsing, movies. Games are not my priority. All I want is maximum performance. Platform switching to Intel is also another option I'd consider. What is the right option? Combine an old CPU like Athlon II X3 with the new graphic card or buy Haswell like i5 4430 with integrated graphics like Intel HD 4600?
If you arent doing much gaming a 7750 or 7770 should be perfect. You basically are running an HTPC. Dont think either one of those cards would be bottlenecked by that CPU. Especialling for movies and the other activities you use it for.
Alright, I'll get Sapphire 7770 GHz Edition then.
And one last question about RAM. Should I add to my existing 2 x 2 GB 1333Mhz CAS9 another 2 x 2 1333 CAS9 modules or buy just 1 x 8 GB 1600 Mhz and replace them?
