Why bother getting something with less connections and have the hassle of an adapter? Plus, I wouldn't use a 6 to 8 pin adapter, if there is such a thing. It's almost definitely not going to be delivering the juice that an 8 pin needs, thus the reason it's not an 8 pin.

The CX600 unit you linked to would be a good choice.

Recommended power for that card is at least 500W, and I wouldn't run it on the PSU anyway. You should look for something by Corsair, Seasonic, XFX, Antec, etc

Here are a couple options from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-GS600-Gaming-Series-Bronze/dp/B008ODWQ5W/ref=sr_1_14?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1382414718&sr=1-14
http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Edition-Bronze-Semi-Modular-Supply/dp/B008O50WKG/ref=sr_1_8?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1382414783&sr=1-8
http://www.amazon.co.uk/550w-Power-Supply-Unit-Edition/dp/B005TDTV0S/ref=sr_1_14?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1382414783&sr=1-14

If you're overclocking anything, you wanna be closer to 600W than 500W.

Cheers!

You should be absolutely fine as long as you have to right connectors, the 7970 dcii only has a tdp of around 220w.

My psu has one 6+2 pcie and one 6 pcie connections the card needs two 8 pcie connections.
Can I buy a 6 to 8 pin pcie converter and use that?
Thanks

That unit will be just fine. It's go 2 8-pin PCI-E connectors, so you won't have to worry about getting an adapter or anything.
