Yesterday afternoon I decided I would try to fix my dads HDD by plugging it into my computer and then booting the system. I now know this was an awful idea, as it booted his HDD and crashed my Windows 7. Windows will now not start without the disk in the computer. I have attempted countless amount of fixes that have been recommended just by googling "Verifying Pool DMI Data error" on google. So far I have:

- Tried to use the installation disk to repair Windows. Which in doing so I found that the computer no longer recognized that Windows 7 was even installed on my HDD. I searched deeper into this issue to find that it might have something to do with the 'Boot' file in Windows being corrupt. Because of this I then:

- Typed in countless amount of recommended commands in the CMD to fix the boot file. Although it would say that the command was executed successfully, it never changed and or fixed a thing.

- I then formatted my HDD and completely re installed Windows 7. At first this seemed to work, until my computer restarted due to updates and again got stuck at "Verifying Pool DMI Data" at the boot screen. I then reinserted the Windows 7 disk and yet again it booted with it in the computer.

- Because I am not satisfied with always leaving my Windows 7 disk in my DVD drive, I then formatted my HDD yet again. Then I re installed Windows 7 onto my SDD instead of my HDD where I always previously had it. This also did not work, the disk still needs to be in the system in order to start. BUT now when I load the installation disk at start up and go to system repair. It searches for installations of Windows 7 on the system and now finds the installation on my SDD. Which if you read up above, it did not do before on my HDD so I am making some progress.

- The last thing I tried was resetting everything in my BIOS to default settings... As you can guess, nothing has changed which is why I am here and in DIRE need of assistance.

SOOO after all of that I am still stuck with this error, and need to have my Windows 7 disk in, in order to boot Windows 7 on my computer.

Some error codes I received are:

Solution
Have you tried resetting your bios before reinstalling windows? Some motherboards have a reset switch, others have jumpers that need temporaily shorted. Worst case, you can pull the battery for 5 minutes or so then stick it back in. You will lose any custom bios settings so you will need to redo any changes if you had made any before.
