Hello all,

I've recently bought a new computer with a H80i cooler, I replaced the loud stock fans with SP120 QE's but they are just as loud (constant max RPM)...

They're connected directly to the H80i, now, I've heard that Corsair Link doesn't work with anything but the stock fans...

So is there anywhere else I can connect the SP120's that might/will make use of there quieter capabilities?

My motherboard is an Asus Sabertooth Z87.

Thanks :)

... Are they pushing, or pulling?

I think it's in a pull configuration... I'm at work now so can't check... lol... I should know this though.

Just connect the fans directly to your mobo and let it take care of turning them down/up.
Especially the Sabertooth is very good at fan controlling.

And yes, you are right. Only the stock fans can be controlled via the Link software.

Thanks for your suggestion, I'll try it when I get home :)

If they are in a pull configuration, try a push configuration. I am willing to bet that that the sound you hear that is annoying you is the sound of the airflow; a lot of people who install side-fans have the same issue.

EDIT: Corsair Air series Quiet Editions should have a pleasant sound. If you can, maybe try some off-the-radiator tests - perhaps the fans bearings are bad in some way.

Strangely they seem to have self rectified themselves and are running almost silently now :)  Thanks for your suggestions though guys!
