I was wondering if it is worth upgrading my processor. I currently have a Intel i7 860 @2.8 ghz. Would it be worth the money to upgrade to a better processor? I know that they dont manufacture 1156 chips anymore, but are there any existing ones that outperform the i7 860 that doesnt cost too much?
TL;DR how much would it cost to upgrade to a chip that is a noticeable increase in an 1156 chip compared to the i7 860. recommend a cpu that would fit the bill pls.

also, I have 8 gb ram, a radeon hd 7770, and a tb hard drive. but my psu is only 350 watts.

Probably not worth spending the money unless you have some application where you are heavily CPU bound and really want more speed, eg. video encoding and editing. You need to get a new motherboard, along with the new CPU. I wouldn't recommend getting anything less than another i7 unless you want more of a sidegrade than an upgrade, and those cost around $300 unless you can get a good deal on an i7 3770k from a Microcenter or something.

If your main concern is gaming, you are probably much better off getting a better power supply and a faster graphics card. A new CPU would only really benefit you in extremely CPU heavy titles like StarCraft II, or Battlefield in 64 player maps.
