It could very well do that if you're paying for a good internet connection, and it will almost certainly give you faster wifi with a better signal.

I suggest you go look up the difference between a modem and a router. What you have right now from verizon is most likely both squashed into one.

so if i connect it to my verzion box the internet would speed up and the download speeds?
