Unexpected restart turns to no display

I was fiddling around on the web and all of a sudden my pc rebooted. As it rebooted there was a very loud fan noise running. There was no display. I shut it down via hard reset and tried again with no avail. I switched the HDMI cord to the second video card slot and nothing. I'm using onboard gfx atm.

Really hoping it's not the card.

if the onboard working right now. then there can be two issues.one the power supply has an issues and cant output the voltage needed to run the gpu or the gpu has died. can you put the gpu into another pc or try another video card or power supply.

Have you tried re seating and checking the power connections?
Also in your BIOS is it set to boot from GFX/GPP instead of your on board? I don't see how this could really affect anything but worth a look into *shrug*

Well, I RMA'd my card and actually got it back today yet the same problem is occurring. I've tried both hmdi hookups on the back of the card and I'm still getting no display, yet the onboard graphics work flawlessly with the same cord and monitor. The graphics card fans are spinning so it is getting power. Not really sure where to go from here I'm on hold with Powercolor atm.

I contacted Powercolor and I was told to update BIOS. Updated BIOS and it's working now. Whew!
