GPU upgrade new options

I currently run a 550 ti, game frequently on 1680x1050 resolution. playing gw2/bf3/bf4 and similar games. theres a guy on craigslist selling a 2gb asus 6950 for $80. the cheapest one i saw on ebay was for around $125. is it a good option to spend a somewhat small amount of money on the 6950 as a small upgrade? or would it be more worth it to spend $200 on a new 7870? im not in much need for an upgrade, but i would much prefer something at least a little greater than my current 550 ti.

The 6950 performs close if not a little weaker than the 7850, which means it's alot better than the 550 Ti

You would be spending 80 bucks to get like 3 - 5 more frames IF that. Also the 7850 would be like 4 - 8 more frames than the 6950.

Edit: I'm just solely going off the numbers from www.gpuboss.com

For $80 you can not buy anything new that will perform on level with the 6950 which will handle your resolution fine. It is ultimately your decision though.

6950 is almost double 550Ti and on level with HD7850, wonder why I never use gpuboss.

are you sure about that 3-5 frames thing? I saw some benchmarks that actually had a significant increase in frame rate compared to the 550 ti

That's way far off, frame rates double in some games, also depends on CPU bottleneck in some games too
A high end card against an entry level ish card 2 generations ago, it's definitely more than 3-5 frames my friend
