Hey there, look, I'm a little new to this so I don't know every single detail yet.

I have an ASUS P5B-PLUS board fitted with an E6300 C2D CPU. I had the system running with the CPU at 2.6GHz for quite a while.

Now my problem is this - I can't remember what I did, but all it tells me is a little message( before I can even go into the BIOS ) saying that there has been an overclocking failure now..

The board displays the picture on the monitor by using my GPU, but what I don't understand is why is just stays there.. The happenings in order - Switch on( fans go on, board LED goes on and then splash appears ) - I don't think it's the board.

Could I have overvolted my CPU then? Is it dead?

Please help!!

Solution
I'd say it's a BIOS issue, but I might be wrong.
Try removing the power cord and pressing the power button for about 30 seconds.
Test the board with single RAM stick, graphics card, dvd drive, keyboard and mouse.
