Hello,
I want to decide b/w which processor to get for my next build?
i7 or amd ?
Here's what I need to do :
Med Gaming @ less than 720p
I have about 10 to 12 tabs open in web browsing, some with youtube/music/ some downloading files, some office works etc.
I have to do C++ and Java and Cad works in demand.
copying large files on HDD and also to dvd and cd.
actually will be having only a 160gb 5400rpm drive with 4gb kingstston hyperx blue ddr3 1600mhz ram.
So, WHich processor do you recommend ?

Solution
Well i'm a gamer, but i tend to use picture programs like Photoshop and Sony vegas for rendering videos etc. It runs perfectly fine. If i render a 20 min long clip to 720p, it will take me around 13-14mins. That is fast enough for me. Personally i wouldn't get the i7, because it's extremely overpriced compared to the 8350 which runs great aswell.

Intel cores are for both gaming and using lots of other softwares like Adobe, Sony vegas, rendering etc etc. AMD CPU's are ONLY for gaming, but they're good at those programs aswell. But if you look at the price difference between those two, i'd DEFINITELY get the 8350. If you do HEAVY rendering and using lots of softwares, then get the i7.

Stick with the FX-8350. Looking at your HDD and RAM, it will bottleneck your processor in CAD and stuff. No point in dishing out more money for your processor to get bottlenecked even more. Use the money saved from the processor and upgrading to a 1tb HDD at 7200rpm 64mb cache and 8-16gb of ram.

So, Will the FX 8350 suit me the best ?? I want to last my PC w/o upgrading for at least 3-4 years.....
AMD FX 8350 Eight Core Desktop Processor
ASUS M5A78L M LX V2 AM3+ Motherboard
EVM 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz Desktop RAM
XFX Radeon HD 4850 1GB DDR3 Graphics Card
Corsair Neutron Series 64GB Solid State Disk [SATA 3 6GB/s]
Is that system fast and good also ?
Will be installing Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit (Sorry to say, but I have only 32 Bit Disc)

Get the 8350. If you want to play next gen games, get a new graphics card, AND 8gb ram. For now you are able to play games decently. And if you want to have your PC to last 3-4+ years, you'll need a new GPU, and more RAM.

all depends on you budget a i7 with hyper threading will easily do the job.But the fx 8350 would be the cheaper route but you gotta also keep in mind that amd tend to be piggys on the power so you may need a better psu.
