Hi there,
i wanted to update my notebook with the latest grapics card drivers, searched for the original drivers and downloaded them. During the installation process the resolution on my screen changed several times and finally the screen turned black. I tried to let the pc "work it out" for like half an hour and thought, it might be part of the update process. Nothing happened, the notebook wasn't responding to the keyboard at all, so i turned it off. Then i restarted the notebook and like nothing happenes. No signals on the screen (not even the "Acer" at the start of every booting process), just the fan of the power supply, the cd drive dive some noise.

I can't enter the bios, i can't start windows in the secure mode, i can't boot with the windows cd and any external screen does give any signals. The notebook just does not respond and work at all.

Any ideas or solutions are welcome.

Some details about my system:
Windows 7 32 Bit (recently new installed)
Acer Aspire 8935G
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4670

Download source for the drivers:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

my guess is you downloaded the regular drivers and not the mobile drivers. try pulling the battery then hold the power button down for 10 seconds. after that put the battery back in and try and boot the notebook. if it starts to boot hit (I think F8) and boot into safe mode and uninstall the drivers.

@the gread randini:
First i was shaking my head as i read your reply, but: It worked. After reading along pc forums for like 5-6 hours yesterday it feels kind of silly, that this is the solution.

Can you explain why this worked or what the problem had been?

@faalin:
i will have a look, what drivers i downloaded, but the notebook seems to work now. i am just not sure, if the driver installation succeded or was aborted. i will check that out and keep you posted.
