CPU: AMD FX-8120
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
MOBO: MSI 990FXA-GD80
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 560-TI Twin Frozer II/OC
PSU: Cosair AX650 Gold
RAM: Cosair Vegenance LP 8gb
CASE: Antec Three Hundred Two
HD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500 gb
CD: Lite-on DVD burner
BIOS Version: 11.8

I tried installing my new GPU last night. I uninstalled my gtx 560ti drivers and uninstalled the GPU, installed the new ASUS r9 280x and it won't post. Everything is plugged in correctly, it will power on but no POST. Installed my gt560ti and it works and POST's fine. I tried clearing my CMOS and it still does not work.

Just seeing if I need to update to a more recent bios like 11.13? I've heard lots of bad things about the new 13.X series of bios updates for my board, i don't have W8 installed.

I just got my Msi 280x in the mail yesterday and haven't been able to install. Seems to me if its not posting or even doing anything you might want to RMA the card.

Just trying to make sure I cover all the bases before trying to contact the Amazon seller for an exchange.

I'm having the same problem with my GIGABYTE 280x, after installing no output from display and NO post beep. Did you resolve your problem?

Got the replacement Monday, still didn't work. Decided to update my motherboard with the newest non win 8 bios to see if that would work, next I was gonna try out in a friends computer. After updating the bios and clearing cmos, it worked and booted up.

Thanks for the reply. I actually just got mine working as well. I cleared CMOS which didn't help, but what did work for me was switch "PCI ROM PRIORITY' to LEGACY ROM from EFI... booted right up after that setting change.

I have been having this same issue. When my card is hooked in, there is no video signal. I have the drivers installed, I have the proper PSU. The only thing I can think of is it is a bios problem like everyone else is saying, however my BIOS does not have the option to "switch PCI rom priority to Legacy" from EFI. When I look at the EFI settings, there doesnt seem to be anything. I am terribly confused, this is the second r9 280x I have tried, and both have 0 luck. The computer does not seem to even really start. It usually beeps when I run it normally, when the graphics card is in, there is no beep sound. I have updated my BIOS from the acer website (my manufacturer) and it doesnt seem to be helping. Is there a chance it just WONT work? This is frustrating.
