Accessing PCs in Windows 7

I can't seem to access my networked PC through windows explorer. It displays the shared folders but denies me access to them. Everything works fine if I do "\\192.168.1.2" in the run box. I do have usernames and passwords setup but it doesnt ask me for one.

How do I sort this out? Both PCs are running Windows 7 (one x64 and one x32)

The answer was to edit credential manager in control panel and manually enter the username and password for the pc, close explorer and it works.

Since both are windows 7, did you try creating a homegroup? I didn't have to use the credentials manager to get mine to work.

Yes did the homegroup settings. That was not the issue.

This always happens when I format and reinstall windows on either PC. Turns out credential manager is the way to go if you get this error.
