Toms,

This may be the dumbest question I've ever asked. Just put in a new 7950 in my rig last night. I've never had a gpu with two power connectors. My 7950 has a 8pin AND a 6pin. While using it last night I got some artifacts and scrambled images.

I just realized that when I hooked my power up to the PSU (Seasonic X 650 modular) I just used 1 8-pin connector into the PSU. This cable split on the other end into a 6 pin AND a 8pin connector. Which I then used on the card.

Is this incorrect? Do I need to use two seperate cables FROM the PSU or is ok to use the split off the 1 cable coming from the PSU. Thank you.

If youre using BOTH 8+6 pin connectors...youre fine with the one cable from the PSU.
