Hi and welcome to Tom's Hardware Forum.

We would need to know 1st the exact model of GPU that you have, because not all overclock the same and with a standard cooling method isn't a good idea try to overclock.

Any way, as 2nd think I would ask, what do you know about overclock?, maybe start for download MSI Afterburner that's a really nice program (and friendly) for overclock GPUs.

Hi Saint, for the first question,I have the Windforce X3 version of this card. It has 3 fans on it so I think it shouldn't be much of a problem for the card's temperature, right?

Second, yes I've heard abour MSI afterburner,Iv'e seen the program myself and I know what it looks like and stuff. What I know about overclocking is that it makes the graphics card perform better at the clock speed you want, but also runs hotter. But I've always been scared to try and overclock these things because I think something is going to mess up and burn it lol... but yeah. Today I really want to try it out and see if I can get more by overclocking.

The widnforce x3 is a very good cooling method for try to overclock the GPU, so, not problem in that side. 1st thing that you need to know in this case is that your GPU will not die in this process, with software and manufacturer cooling is almost impossible to kill your GPU.

Now, I guess that you already have MSI Afterburner installed so, go to settings and start for create a fan profile and select the "Unlock voltage" option that you see as soon as you open the settings option.

Alright, that is done. My Core clock is at 1000MHZ and the Memory Clock is at 1250MHZ

Ok.

Now you need to start to rise the memory clock a little steps to find the max overclock with stock voltage. Rise the clock in little steps and test for stability with games and programs like 3DMark Fire Strike.
