Should I buy the Razer Kraken Pro or something else?

I need a new headset because my current one is awful and my friends complain on Skype. So I was looking to get a slightly better one, but basically cheap and cheerful, like £15. But I figured that if I was buying a new headset I should probably get a slightly better one, since I'm getting a new PC very soon and will be doing high-end gaming.

I've been looking at the Razer Kraken Pro and have mixed thoughts. I love the look of it, the stowaway mic and the price, but I need to know if it has reasonable sound quality. Currently my headphones are so bad that listening to games through them kills my ears as it destroys the sound, so anything I get will be an upgrade, but it would be nice if it can rival my speaker system (which is very cheap, but sounds quite alright).

I guess what I'm asking is: is the Kraken Pro's sound quality good? I'm not expecting fantastic audio, but something which I can comfortably use in games without feeling the sound is of poor quality, would be nice. If it's even better than my current crappy speakers, then that's superb. I've heard very mixed things, so am unsure.

Is it any good? Should I buy something else? My budget can't really stretch as I wasn't anticipating buying a headset.

I think the quality is good. i can hear everything very well, and the bass is great.

the headset does have a good amount of plastic, so if you don't like plastic, dont get it. but the earcups are comfortable as balls, and the mic is of good quality and easy to retract/detract

Excellent, thanks. I've ordered it now, after looking at many reviews and comparisons. Comfort is a pretty high priority and I don't mind plastic either, I quite like it :)
It's. So. Green.

Oh yeah, sure. As you can see I'm quite new to this forum.

Will be glad to have a headset that gets me noticed :) might even listen to my iPod with them if I can tweak it to get the bass quieter.
