New built pc wont boot/no display

yes its the ram. but when i tested it(4gd3 1600mhz) on a older ddr3 board its working fine.then
used my old 2g d3 1333 ram on my new gigabyte a88x then its now showing display
the question is why does the 4gd3 1600mhz ram wont work on the new gigabyte a88x board?
while its working fine on a older board

good question.
i can take a stab at it though. AMD cpus don't like single sticks of ram, and tend to become quite unstable. it's possible your cpu can't play nice with a single stick of ram. that or the ram is, quite simply incompatible with your motherboard. thats a rarity these days but i'm not sure what else it could be.

just taking a short in the dark really. here is something to try.
Its possible you have the ram in the wrong slot. Try your single stick of ram in each ram slot, one at a time. it sounds silly but it actually does matter which slot your ram is plugged into on the motherboard.
