Crossfire or New GPU

Hello, I am looking into upgrading my system for the new games coming out. I was wondering whether I should buy a new GPU or crossfire my current card with the same card. Currently I have the Radeon HD 7850 2gb ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161406 ). Would 2 HD7850's crossfired be better then the Radeon R9 280x or the Radeon HD 7950? My budget it MAYBE $300. Any information is appreciated, thank you.

Crossfiring in that board is a bad idea, that's because that one card will work at x16 and the other at x4 speed and this asymmetry can even cause issues instead of boosting the performance of your setup, so I suggest you to get the best card you can get for your budget (an HD 7970 most likely).

Crossfire cards can bring up things like micro stuttering, and this is a thing that can completely ruin your experience. Radeon Pro is able to help in this case but a single strong GPU is nearly allways better than 2 lower end ones crossfired. You got higher upgradeability, lower power consumption and less problems.

Ok, Thank you. Also just one more question. Should I invest in getting 8 more gigs of RAM or is 8 enough?
