intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz overheating

My problem is before i never had a problem with over heating but now for some reason i guess i changed something or someshit and i can't figure out why my cpu keeps climbing up to the red when im playing a game it didn't used to do this before and it looks like all the overclocking features are turned off this is my speccy spec

Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz 36 °C This stays stable until i run a game then it goes up to 90 in the red can some one help me ?

    If it's at least 3 year old, it might be time to replace the thermal paste.
    Also check the fan if it's running properly and dust free

    it's not the paste and it's not the fan only fan i have is the stock one but even tho it's been fine for weeks until today
  3. I had the same issue with my core i5-2500k. Everything was fine for about 3 years then I started getting strange videocard driver crashing and I found out that my cpu was hitting 90 degrees. I replaced my thermal paste and brought the voltage down a bit and it resolved the issue.
