Asus Laptop wont start normally or repair after F8.

My Asus laptop didn't shutdown properly and found it super hot in the laptop bag. After, it wouldn't start up, stalling on the microsoft loading bar page.
Using F8 on booting, wont start normally or when selecting repair. In safe mode it starts loading windows files but stalls on Loaded: \Windows\system32\DRIVERS\avgidsha.sys

Any ideas on how to get back in?

I don't have cd-roms or a back up, I have only recently got the machine.

Many thanks

Okay, you could try restoring your system to an older time. Bring up the advanced boot menu.(That F8 pressing on booting). Then look for something like,Last known good configuration. Select it and see if the issue is solved. If not, you'll need to re-install the OS,since the starting in safe mode shows some error with the windows file.
Also, seeing that you're not in possession of a DVD drive,I'd suggest a USB stick booting and installation of the Windows. If you'd like to get help on that, please update. :)

thanks for your reply. I tried last known good configuration but no luck. if I reload os will I lose my user data? I read about an F11 factory reset but that does quite user data.
Also if my Windows 7 is licensed to the Kyoto, how/where do I get the os reboot software and is it free?

Actually,if you re-install the OS you'll lose all the data you've stored in the C drive (If C is the drive in which you currently have the OS).I think the factory reset will delete all the data. But the OS re-install will remove only the data stored in C drive(Or the drive in which you have the OS installed). So it's the better option.
And about the license key,I'm not totally aware of how that's done, but I guess it's the License Key (Product key) that you need, and you can download the iso(image file) file of the Win 7 and burn it to a disc or copy the files to a bootable USB,and install the OS with that key you have.
The download locations: 32 bit:
