Should I buy a GTX 780 for this price?

I need a good gpu for 1440p gaming. I can't wait until mid november for the GTX 780 TI so it's either the 780 or the R9-290X. I have been using AMD GPU's ever since I built my first PC and I kind of want a change. Right now I am talking to a seller on eBay. Right now I can buy a lightly used GTX 780 for $520 shipped. Should I go for it? Is the 290X really that much faster? Will it get me 10 more fps on BF4 or something like that? Should I just spend $650 for a new 780?

The 290x has massive memory bandwidth, it is faster than the GTX 780 however a 780 @ $520 is a steal. If you can wait a little longer it would be wise to see what Nvidia does with prices after AMD launches its flagship.
