Im not too computer savvy and i need help please!

i had time warner cable add cable tv and internet to my house. (I previously used a CLEAR mobile device to access the internet). I am running Windows 7 Home Premium, I have a NetGear 600 Wireless router. The installation tech attached a cable from the modem to my wireless router. My computer says I am connected to the internet but I have "no internet access". I CAN connect through the CLEAR device but the performance is uncharacteristically slow. I should also add, when I attempt to run the "troubleshooter" to allow the computer to diagnose the issue, the troubleshooter will not "run". It says "an error has occurred". There is an error code that pops up whem I attempt to access a variety of applications (troubleshooter, antivirus software) it says <insert applicable program name> followed by "0xc000007b (for instance: AvastUI.exe - 0x000007b) Please help!!! Thank you in advance!

Hi! It is a new installation. I have an alternate wireless connection using the same PC, and it is problem free. I can connect easily and it works fine. I am unable to connect via the Time Watner Cable internet modem, hence I thought it had something to do with it since the CLEAR connection does not reault in any error messages.
Have you any advice as to how to reaolve the PC error that is preventing the connection via Time Warner Cable connection?
