770 sli vs 780

I see a number of "Best Builds" with dual 770 set ups. I also hear the standard advice of "use a single card" whenever you can.

So...
Is it worth the extra $$$ for the sli set up. My use is for gaming BF4 as well as CS6 Lightroom and AfterEffects.

I plan on updating to a 27" 2560x1440 monitor.

Does one only need this much GPU power for a triple monitor set-up or bragging rights? What are the real world implications?

Looking at i7 4770k and 16GB ram for video and photography needs.

    Thank you
  3. If you are not against AMD, maybe wait on the R9 290X
  4. if you want to play BF4 at 1440p and ultra graphics.... you'll need dual 770s! a single 780 wont hold 60fps there

logical solution right now is not to get anything and wait for the r9 290x and see how things play out

Thanks for all the help...waiting seems the right tact right now...maybe we'll even see a 770ti soon as well. Got a second 560ti on the cheap to tide me through on my two-year old rig for right now.
