Not sure if Im posting in the right section.

I am building a computer inside of an XBOX 360 Slim case. Obviously the back plate won't house my I/O sheild, so I am making one myself that will actually attach to my custom mobo tray (also acrylic). My issue is cutting the shape to house the I/O shield. What should I use? I tried scoring until I broke through the sheet, but I have such little room on any side of the back plate that the acrylic shattered to bits as I tried to pop out the rectangle. (And gave me quite a nasty cut as well) I need the cut to be as precise as possible so the I/O shield will fit snug. Any ideas? I'm hoping for something quick. My smallest distance on the outside of the rectangle is only 1/8". I've heard horror stories about using a dremel on acrylic sheets, but that's my ideal solution. Many thanks!

look near you see if there a water cutter or laser cutter near you. might cost you 10-15 for someone to put it on a water cutter and cut the plastic for you.

That may be overkill. It's just a simple rectangle that I need to cut. I'm not designing the I/O shield from the acrylic. Here's another question: can I use a dremel if I run water over the piece of acrylic? As I ask, it sounds dangerous but just wanna know if that's possible.
