When I try to boot my PC absolutely nothing happens.
No fans, no POST beeps,no lights.
I have a 550W Antec PSU and a Gigabyte B75 Mobo.
I also tried the paperclip test by shorting the green wire to ground, but the fan didn't seem to spin.
But all my USB ports recieve 5V as my external hard-drive starts spinning.
Also my PSU switch is stuck on ON position for about 3 months now; that hasn't caused any problems till today.

Solution
Right now I've got a Trendnet TEW-639GR running in the house, the TP-Link TL-WR1043ND, and the D-Link DIR-645, are both good reasonable routers - all 3 are N rated and carry Gb ports

I tried power up the pc with only 1 stick of RAM and the processor.
It still wouldn't. I also placed my motherboard on a non conducting surface but it simply doesn't switch on. :??:
I don't have a spare PSU nor a Multimeter to test the voltages.
Should I buy a new PSU or is my mobo fried?

After getting quite disgusted by my situation I physically hit my psu..
(weird, I know) and then it magically started working :p :D

Although sometimes it boots up for a second or 2 and then shuts down and continues this loop...
Is there a problem with loose contacts?

It seems that it's a short between the pins on the back of the board. You did the paperclip test while the 24-pins connector is plugged on the motherboard or just connecting to a fan? Do a PSU test with only a fan connected to the PSU and short the green and black wires, if it doesn't turn on then maybe your PSU is fried.

Sounds like something bad/loose in PSU - it's like in the old days with the early harddrives, some models (especially the really, really early big ones (100 MB ;) ) had a habit of the read head would at times stick, and a common 'fix' was to lay the drive on a phone book and drop it on a table from about 8-12" high, it would knock the read head loose and then you had to run CHKDSK to mark the bad sectors where the head stuck, today folks will just hop out and pick up a new drive, back around early 1988, a 100MB drive ran about $8K

I'll try to get it exchanged from the retailer..
BTW I had one more question. Can I have a wireless connection between 2 modems so that I can connect my PC which is in the study room to my WIFI connection which is in my bedroom?

Depending on size of house shouldn't need two modems, a single one should work fine, run my modem to a wireless router and that covers the entire inside of the house and can be used across the street or even about 75 feet from the house out by the pool

Can you give me the specifications of a good wireless router having a decent range?
One final question :p : Should I buy 500GB WD Black or Blue??
Will I see a huge difference in booting and loading times?
