Hi everyone,

I have recently purchased an Odroid-X2 (a computer on a board, similar to a Raspberry Pi), which uses HDMI output. I also purchased a small 5" screen from Lilliput.

When I try to connect the computer to the screen it says there is no connection. However, when I connect the computer to my Pioneer AV receiver and then the AV receiver to the screen everything works ok. Does anyone have any ideas as to why this may be happening?

Thanks for your help

Depending on how old your 5" monitor it might not be completing HDCP handshake because the monitor was made before HDCP was developed, and when you connect it with an HDCP compatible it will complete the connection and you will have picture.
*HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)

Thank you for your response.

I think the monitor is quite new. Would this still be the case considering the 5" screen works with my DVD player without issue? The Odroid-X2 computer works with other screens also without problems.

Yes it could be possible that the dvd player does not require HDCP, and most likely your other monitors are HDCP compatible. If I had to guess I would say that the manufacturer of the 5" screen just didn't bother with HDCP. or if there is a driver for the monitor or the graphics chipset somewhere I would try to download that and install it.
Best of luck.
Hope this helps.
